Amazing looking, jaw droppingly well animated trailer. Shame its all pre-rendered and most likely not ingame footage. Although if that does ever turn out to be ingame, may god have mercy on Xbox’s soul…actually, everyone knows PS3’s gona wipe the floor with 360 anyway.

That clip really is game play and it is not inhanced at all… i heard it in an interveiw from e3.

They are both good games depends on what you like………halo is all about quick killing and fast paced gaming. kill zone is more stealthy becase of the no radar fuction……..yeah and i’m guessing those are not actual gameplay graphics becuase if any of you have played medal of honour theres a movei where you are on beach in first person but its a video and you think its gameplay…………plus who cares if halo or killzone is better im not gona go by an xbox just for a good game like halo when i already have a similar game right here killzone.

You guys have to understand whats going on here.Most likely its pre rendered. Even if it wasnt,game develpors(like me) will have a very hard time developing those kind of graphics. The Xbox 360 will definetly be alot easier to make games for.Now i dont meen to get all techincal on you now, but PS3 isnt making much of a change in how the graphics are put together.However Xbox 360 is a very dramatic and much easier way to design pipelines and triangles(polygons).The PS3 will most likely be more powerfull.But as we know the software of consoles always drive the hardware.And what Microsoft has that Sony dosent is a good Online system.Ps3 wont have one at least until a year after its launch.(juss like the Xbox)

I agree with the developer guy, the only reason why that trailer looked so good was because it will make you want to buy it.
and i seriously doubt that its going to look that good, it took almost three years for sony and microsoft to make games that use their machines full capabilities what are the chances that sony have already made a game that uses the ps3’s full capabilities even though they dont actually have a working ps3 yet. ow and the 360 is easyer to make games for so why havent they got a game that uses its full capabilities and they actually have a console, hmmmm interesting.

Ok now kill zone 2 was pre render. For one it was so practicle so like here it comes. Everyhting went smooth. Iv seen guys play games for large amount of ppl and they still make mistakes it went os smooth. plus even with a kinda sli they are using. It loooked so pre render not even sli on pc can do that in game. Also sony lies alot and they pay off the meida. Dont get hopes up to see kill zone 2 that good. Xbox 360 has redesigned evrything took hardware that was alrdy awesome and created a very powerful system using 48 pipelines and 512 ddr 3 memory with a 3ghz 3 cpu processor. Kick but xbox 360.

PS2 was one of the systems that you just know was good it may not have been as powerful as the xbox, but the development team in sony are very smart and they did not rush at all in the development of the of the PS3 why would they wait after christmas when sales will lower, as far as im concerned the amount of work sony has put into all of their works and games is uncomparable

I feel that the xbox 360 and the ps3 will be unique for certain things(xbox has been a good shooter system while ps2 was all rpg and stratagy games) but i still feel that the ps3 has had way more time to develope and change any fualts within the system and games. chancesa are ill end up bying both and playing both. xbox 360 has a better online setup than ps3 because the xbox systems are pretty much made to play online.So once again my conclusion is that they are pretty damn close in capabillity just in different ways.

Hey ok PS3 will be ok but i am an Xbox fan but that’s my opinion the Xbox 360 is going to be the best system for a while the PS3 will be good because the playstation is not coming till next year.

i use to be a ps2 fan an i hated the 1st xbox, it was such titles like grand theft auto an gran turismo that drew me towards the ps2, the only title i liked on the 1st xbox was halo and that was not enough. but now grand therft auto is on xbox as well as ps2 project gotham 360 looks amazin an the online capabilities of the 360 are amazin 2, i admit that killzone 2 looks good but that footage is 2 well planned 2 be actual game footage even if that was actual game footage i would still get the 360 because it has the game titles in my point of view, they have the rights to rare-ware hu make perfect dark zero which looks gd. also the produces of halo 3 will have more time 2 develop halo 3 ps3 need 2 bring out some very good games on there release date 2 make me buy 1.

Xbox360 and PS3 both look good. I played Halo and Killzone and they are both good games. The killzone 2 trailer is nice but what about Halo 3, have not seen any trailers for that.
I own PS2 and PSP. Sony created some amazing games for all the Playstations. I dont think they will stop now.
I’ll go with PS3 but Xbox 360 is bot bad.

Well, actually I read somewhere that although the gameplay footage isn’t prerendered, it wasnt actual gameplay either. Apparently it is a scripted sequence made using in game resources, ie: Grand Theft Auto Cinematics. So its basically in game graphics, but some monkey wasn’t playing it. That should answer the question on why the gameplay was so smooth. Also, I wouldn’t care which company wins. I just want either microsoft or sony to do…I dont like choice. Both consoles have great games lined up for them, but I would only be able to get 1… However it seems that the PS3 is more futureproofed, due to its beefier hardware. I wouldnt wanna buy a 360 just to buy a new xbox 3 years down the road. The PS2 lasted an impressive 6 years. 6. SIX. Thats respectable by any standards for computer hardware. As such I’m currently leaning more towards the side of the PS3, however I’ll wait til both consoles are released, and compare em.

Hello people i hope everyone is getting eager to meet the ps3 when it comes out. This console war is very confusing in one hand ps3 has more powerful hardware AND BELIEVE ME PEOPLE IS BETTER NO DOUBT ABOUT IT, but as many people are saying Xbox 360 is easier to program for, while the ps3 is harder, which will probably make the games more expensive than the xbox games. Killzone looks amazing as one of the first ps3 games, i seen trailers and wow if it was pre-rendered them that would disappoint me a bit, but still think about it should still have much better graphics that ps2 and xbox games. These console wars are funny people have very neat and good opnion but in the end people get the system that has games that they like. I have Halo 2 and Kill Zone and i think they are both kick ass games but in extreme battles halo 2 is better but the campaign kinda sucked. in kill zone the campaign was pretty good and the 1 player vs. A.I. was awsome if there were no friends around but in large battles it didnt run to smoothly. I think halo 3 three will beat killzone 2 but hey i’ll probobly get them both anyway

ok i have to say that ps3 fans a very stupid i mean common just becuase ps3 has better specs does not mean that it will turn out better, the architecure of the whole machine has been done badly therefore the game developers will find it harder to make games onit which finaly comes down to less games and crapy games. you never compare something like a CPU on its own you have to take into account everything else like the memory everthing fits togetther in the xbox 360 to make one comeplete machine whereas the ps3 is not, the best thing would be to buy it and take it appart and use the stuff in your pc. as for halo vs killzone i go for gameplay over graphics anyday, the graphics on the killzone pre rendered trailer were good but first of all its probably not going to be online secondly its not halo 3.

Dear me! I remember the “old conversation” when the Atari’s were coming out, and everyone was saying “Wow, it looks so good!” And others would then say “Yeah, but it won’t look like that in the game”…

And we are still having that conversation today, BUT…. The Atari didn’t have SEVEN 3.2 GHz processors, ONE 3.7GHz Cell Processor, TWO Graphics Cards etc etc etc etc…

My point? I think that age old conversation will be null and void with this new generation of machine! Who knows, it may well look like that as the amount of processing power the PS3 can do is only matched by Parallel Processing, and a decent setup at that!!!!

the ps3 is not going to be hard to develop games for. its going to be just as easy. plus that doesnt matter because from an interview that is on the GOD OF WAR game ‘ps2’ the guy said that the ps2 at first was hell to make games for but within two years all the bugs were worked out with the help of sony, and game developing became easy. i doubt that ibm would of allowed that to happen to start with and sony has more experience then microsoft wen it comes to hardware. I am a ps fan but am going to wait till both consols are out before deciding. I do like the xbox but ps3 because its more powerful will be better 4-5 years down the track. As for halo3 and killzone2. I have killzone and its great. Ive played halo2 and its great. both next gen games will be great.

This does appear to be some marketing mechanic. Even if that is gameplay footage, the movie itself is scripted and no one is actually behind a controller there. However, as is popular with a lot of Next-generation games, Story relevant movie clips are being done using the same graphics as the rest of the game (most commonly seen in Role playing games) So it’s not entirely impossible that those are the graphics. Still, if they are, it would suggest Guerilla spent an obscene amount of time developing this one. Just because it’s a next generation system, doesn’t mean the games will automatically come with Next generation graphics.

I personally don’t believe this is ingame footage, but the game itself looks promising. Killzone seems to have been a love it or hate it game, and it never succeeded in killing Halo (Although there are several points to the game I personally believe are better than the Halo series, there were also several drawbacks).

Still, people who enjoyed Killzone are already impressed with this new installment, wheras the resolve of certain Halo fans has been shaking since Halo 2, where is was substandard in improvements in every field except multiplayer.

Killzone has nowhere to go but up at this point, wheras it’s Xbox competition needs to maintain it’s audience to any up and coming franchises.

I’m not a huge man on hardware specifications, but stop using them like buzzwords. I’ve read very few comments on this that can actually explain what they’re talking about, but I could generate the 360 spec list from this thread just by scrolling the mouse.

On a personal level, I’m looking forward to the next Killzone more than the next Halo. I enjoyed Killzone despite it’s flaws. But that doesn’t mean I won’t con a friend into buying Halo 3 when it comes out…I’m just a First Person Shooter fan.

I thought Killzone kicked ass…i never played it online and belive it or not i never even played Halo 1.

But alot of pepole told me that it sucked and they told me that Halo 2 sucked more, but Killzone was awesome the graphics were pretty cool, even though i noticed some flaws that the makers couldev done a better job at. Such as whenever you died and the camera showed your body, it looked all bumby and rigged and i always noticed that when your body falls on your back it looks as if though you poped a boner….or was i just seeing things.lol. anyway Killzone was a bad ass game and i think Killzone 2 will slaughter Halo 3…….

Why the fuss? I’m buying both so I can play Halo 3 and Killzone. Also this will give me a BluRay drive and when Microsoft release it a HD drive. Can’t go wrong in the disc format wars! Xbox live rocks and no doubt Sony will try to get their online ass into gear. It’s ALL good. BOTH systems will be awesome each with their pros and cons. Like a game? See which system that particular title looks best on and buy it. I’m a gamer and I like ALL consoles!

because it “just came out”…consoles never show ther true power when they first come out, the developers need to get a feeling for the hardware etc.

- it’s got all the strategy, fighting, and role playing franchises
- it’s online is going to be improved ( trust me i know, my cousin works for sony )
- it’s cheap ( $300-$400 )

THE BAD
- does not own the first person shooter franchise
- pretty fatass console, bigger than 1’st xbox
- it just…simply doens’t have halo
- controllers differant ( i personally prefer xbox controllers…sorry )

- simply amazing graphics ( it IS in-game graphics, believe it or not )
- amazing AI, they have minds of there own practically, lemme just put it that way
- games quite interactive ( i like interactive 1’st person shooters )

THE BAD
- killzone has always seemed just a little choppy, but it looks as though they fixed it
- graphics cut out in the 1’st killzone, you could suddenly see the graphics just dissappear, sometimes for long periods of time
- the dialogue…killzone 2’s sounds just fine…but # 1’s dialogue got seriously annoying, whenever you shot a helghan they would go OWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW, and schreech

HALO 3
THE GOOD
- the third and final chapter of one of the greatest 1’st person shooters (#1 better than #2)
- cool storyline, characters, creatures, and weapons
- multiplayer SETUP ( not games…SETUP )
extremely well organized
- tons of vehicles

THE BAD
- multiplayer is full of cheaters, moders, and glitches
- multiplayer is all about the weapons, get the best weapons, and ur unbeatable really
- AI is sometimes stupid
- the multiplayers ranking system…i found was rather gay

i played halo 2 and killzone and i have to say killzone shoots down halo 2 and puts a grenade dow its throt. the best part of killzone is the real ness the movments of the player it is like your really there. and pluse the graphects are munch better so all of u halo 2 fantecs you and halo 2 can SUCK MY BALLS

Yes As a game shooter and a Cs player, i am truly looking for realistic environment, more moderned guns such as machine guns, snipers, shot-guns, etc. And smarter computer players if possible, my point? Come on you can already tell, Killzone Is the game i am looking for, and Killzone 2 will probably reach beyond my expectations. I do not care what you think that is bad and good between Killzone and Halo, Ps3 and Xbox 360, whatever, but that is my opinion. I used played halo alot with my friend before and i thought it’s kinda strange and boring for my taste for shooting games. And the first time i played Killzone, man, my dream came true! And killzone 2? hmmmm, no more schools probably ( just kidding! ) . Anyways, i prefered killzone more than Halo. And yeah i read ALL the arguments. Pretty messy i suppose :P Peace out gaming nerds.

i got the first killzone for ps2 and it was one of the best games iv ever played and killzone 2 look hell gd reel awesum. i can’t wait to get and it comes out for ps3. its going to blow halo3 out of the water look hell gd hope come out soon.

Wow i cant believe all the things that have been said on the topic of ps3 vs xbox 360. Who cares what system can produce the better graphics. If there is no gameplay to back up the graphics what is it good for. Maybe some company can make a game with the most photorealistic graphics ever but all you do is walk around. It would sell like hot cakes because everyone is so concerned with how things look. If graphics are so important to people then why didnt they buy xboxes instead of ps2’s. The xbix could produce better graphics than the ps2 so why didnt it sell better? Because the ps2 had better games.

the new PS3 is going to be the best selling game system out on market in just a few months it is going to be awsome. I think that area 51 is the gayest game ever kill zone 2 is going to beat the hell out of any game out on market so is grantrismo 5 it is going to B.A. it is going to be exciting and the graphics do matter it’s the number one thing in the game system if the game is good then the graphics have to be good that’s all I have to say about it. Killzone luks so so hot, the thing is the video that is out is that real gameplay or a video screen. We always get fooled into games because allt hey show is the video screens.

alright that trailer looked sweet but It only time will tell but if any of you have noticed that Sony’s system the PS2 did not I repeat NOT have that many great FPS’s and the XBox had many FPS’s but the PS2 had a very large amount of good RPG’s and fighting games if I am correct and the Nintendo gamecube well its a childs sytem because I have never heard of a M game that is only on the Gamecube(that means no resident evil 4 that was on the PS2 as well)

If you like the way killzone 2 looks its all fake. Sony is not showing the real stuff. But they eventually said that it is not going to look as good. All the games are like that. I was going to get a ps3 but now i dont think i am because overall the Xbox 360 is going to be better. Oh and Halo 3 is not going to be revealed in December 2006, it is going to come in Spring 2007. So Halo 3 is going to look better because there going to have more time. PS: the specs on the ps3 is probally fake to.

I had a trailer on my computer of it and it said it was all in game footage.

the first time i looked at this trailer, i was like “Iz this a cinematic?” Then afterwards i watched it again thinking “Find stuff in the trailer that could possible discern this as actual gameplay” and it seems its probable that it is actual gameplay. My opinion though. ( I own an xbox btw, dont care about choosing “sides”, only graphics, sound and gameplay )

Well what can I tell you? I’ve been developing games for the playstation 1 and 2 for about 8 years now and I must say, each new game we work on gets harder and harder, but not because it’s hard to write for, but for us trying to 1 up the last game we worked on. As for the Killzone trailer, even though I’m not on that project, I can tell you that it’s not impossible to create something like that. We’ve received our ps3 development kit months ago and let me tell you, there is almost nothing this PS can’t do. So by playing with this new technology I can conclude that the Killzone trailer is very much possible.

Lol, you guys are funny, especially you PS3 guys. Did you knwo that all PS3 games at E3 2005 were prerendered because they didn’t even have a dev kit? And just incase you can’t make the connection, that means that Killzone 2 was prerendered. Period. Oh, here’s proof.

Let me just say that the ps2 sold more consoles than the xbox, but why i hear you ask because there was no real competition around until xbox came. Now that the xbox is here and the 360 sonys shares are dropping now why do you think that is. 360 had some of the best developers in the world working on its design. It looks much better as sony has stole the spider man text and wrote playstaion3 over it. sure it comes in 3 colours but the 360 has different covers for it so basically an endless supple of changes. Sony have also have nothing original about it, everything about the online is stolen from xbox even Nintendo did a controller with the same sort of technology many years ago. When i first got my xbox i just sat and laugh when sony fans were lied to, all the pre-rendered game footage that they would say was amazing and how it was better than Microsoft and when it came out you would find that xbox had better graphics. Also sony sell some complete crap on the ps2 and it will be the same for ps3. By christmas there will be over 160 games out for 360 which is alot and they are all good titles that have had effort put into them. Also ps3 owners will not be able to buy any football games or many sports games untill 12 months after the ps3 is released because Microsoft has exclusive deals. Microsoft shares have also went up, why? because the xbox and 360 wiped the floor with sony. Any fan that says the ps3 is better is just saying that because the are a fan, they have little proof. GTA the best selling game for sony now is on the 360 and whats more is the 360 has exclusive online content so therefore it has more than the ps3. The graphics wont be any different because the 360 and ps3 are so alike in power and with the game being realised at the same time they wont have time to change graphics. Basically if you want to spend all this money on a ps3 to play killzone then go ahead but there are no other EXCLUSIVE games for sony which are any good. xbox has gears of war, halo3, halo wars, another halo which peter Jackson and someone eles are making because they have made there own games company and yes i did say PETER JACKSON.
