Mustang 2.0
The price of gas has skyrocketed. 94 octane from Sunoco is around $1.30/L in Toronto which means that spring has arrived. For me its the time of year when I put the Corolla to bed and take the Mustang out of the garage.
After years of neglect my ‘88 Mustang has a fresh coat of paint, new headlights, new taillights, and a new B303 cam. It’s about a week away from being finished and I can’t wait.

It came out of the paint booth this morning and this is what it now looks like. The picture isn’t great but the new colour is a dark charcoal gray. I’m planning to ditch the traditional 5-star rims for some black rims which will give the car a completely new look.
I’ve had the same aftermarket exhaust system for almost 20 years so and plan to put a new Flowmaster exhaust kit which will put a big smile on my face.

Now all you need is some new gray seats and a dash to make the transition complete. Looks good from here. For a ltttle fun a buck 30 is worth it! How much did the new light package cost you?

The interior will stay the same for now. I’m not crazy about the gray seats. I would go black leather if I bothered to do the interior.
I’d rather do the upper intake or have some more work done to the engine first. Can’t wait to get it back on the road.
The lights have been sitting in the trunk of my Corolla for 2 years. I forget what I paid for them at DaSilva Racing. $200 maybe? I don’t like the Euro style and went with the style that came with the car.
Both rear taillights have been replaced (one was cracked and the other was smashed — damn parking lots). My old 5.0 badges have been salvaged. The puncture in the front skirt has been fixed and I’m getting new fog lamps.
Well, at least the body will be new!

It’s gonna look pretty hawt sitting in your driveway. That is, if you can save up the cash to put enough gas in it to get it home from the shop. What does that thing get, about 2-1/2 miles a gallon?

Paul, the thirsty V8 gives me approx 15 MPG in the city and 24 MPG on the highway. This changes drastically depending on the number of burnouts and heavy acceleration on a bright sunny day.
