Garlic Shrimp Recipe

This is a classic shrimp recipe that is extremely simple to prepare. Serve it with some crusty Italian bread and a nice Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc.

1 lb (500g) large shrimp
1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
4-5 cloves garlic, finely chopped
pinch of crushed red pepper flakes
2 tbsp chopped fresh Italian parsley
4 tbsp freshly squeeze lemon juice
1 tsp sea salt

Remove shells from the shrimp, rinse thoroughly in cold water and put all of the shrimp in a bowl of ice water with 2 tbsp of sea salt and let it stand for 15 minutes. Drain and dry the shrimp with paper towels.

Preheat your oven to 400°F.

Combine the shrimp, olive oil, garlic, pepper flakes, 1 tbsp of parsley and 2 tbsp of lemon juice in a baking dish. Place the dish, uncovered onto the middle rack of your oven and bake for about 10 minutes or until your shrimp turns pink. Remove it from the oven.

Sprinkle 1 tbsp of parsley and 2 tbsp of lemon juice over the shrimp and serve immediately.
